If you are planning to buy Dell Laptop, then read this first...!

If you are planning to buy Dell Laptop, then read this first...!

Warning: Dell brand is no more have that quality in it which they claim.

CASE 1:
I have bought Dell Inspiron N4010 laptop 1 yr back from Dell website to save cost. I did not buy extended warranty at that time (Dell very well knew about this.).  Also I had a good previous experience of 2nd hand Dell- Latitude laptop, almost 8yrs old still working fine .

Nearly 1 ½ month prior to expiry of the 1yr warranty Dell called me up to renew the warranty.   I  ignored their warning.
This Laptop has a 64bit win7 OS installed in it (as per Dell's recommendation); this OS is such a hopeless product that so many s/w available in the market doesn’t work on it. So I thought warranty is over now I can downgrade the system by calling them. I inquired them about warranty & downgrading of the OS. They agreed upon it & sent me quotation for the sane.

Due to fund unavailability I couldn’t reply them on time. AND in few days later some security updates automatically downloaded on to my laptop & got installed by itself. I thought It would be a regular update & I allowed it to install. When I rebooted the laptop it started showing error “Disk Failure”. I again call up Dell & told about this, they said If you buy HDD form Dell it will be costlier & will get only 1yr warranty, so you buy the HDD from outside & then show it to Dell technician for warranty up gradation.
I did as per suggestion. When my local engineer open the laptop for installing new bought HDD, I was shocked to see that the RAM dell was using were not of the same manufacturer (I have 3GB RAM : 2GB + 1GB), and also couldn't see anything written like “manufactured for Dell Laptops only” which we usually see on branded electronics.  This clearly shows that the RAM used at the time of assembling was a scrap/reused RAM and Dell claims it is a “BRANDED” Laptop.

After replacing the HDD system worked properly for 1 day. Next day again when I started the system again new security update alert came & I allowed it to download & install. As you know to get this updating process uninterrupted you have to have sufficient battery backup. In my case I saw it is just 15 min backup remaining. I installed the updates & took the adapter & plugged in. The moment I put the adapter pin to laptop it shut down.
I took this laptop to Dell service center in Andheri (west), Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. There were 6 customers waiting before me and I was shocked to see 4 among them had a problem with the same model (Dell – Inspiron). Some laptops were crashed within 6 month, some in 9 month & one in 10 days. what kind of quality control is this?

Case 2:
My cousin also bought Dell inspiron from dell website ( i am afraid to say i recommended him to do so). When he received it; laptop was not turning on. Dell engineer took the laptop & he got replacement 2 months later.

When he got the replacement after that the panel was not working properly. Again they took it back. They said they have rectified the fault. But again the laptop was heating to 100 degree.  Again they took the laptop & said they have rectified the problem.
This way the laptop was not functioning for nearly 3 moths from the day of purchase. Now Dell is reluctant to exclude these three months from the “warranty availed period”
These are two cases I have come across while dealing with Dell.
I have published it to give you a warning about the deteriorating quality & attitude of the Dell people.
Dell is no more a “computer manufacture” but has become a “computer after sales service provider”; you see the warranty in my case cost  INR 14000/- a year.

So be careful...DELL IS HELL… ! ! !
